Wear it which way?
Thank you for all the encouraging comments on my last post! I’m feeling a little better about things now that I’m slowly ticking urgent to-dos and queries off my list.
Next wednesday, I have a function to go to hosted by my university faculty. I’ve got an amazing draped dress that I plan to wear. There’s one problem.
I don’t know how to wear it!
It is the most versatile dress ever. Worn normally, it has huge batwing sleeves, gathers at the waist and has a tight fitted skirt. Its also hard to describe.
Insert Lolcat: Here, I has the visual clues for you!

It draped quite nicely, is not revealing at all but shows off my best feature. Oh hai legs! However, if I don’t have one hand on my waist, it could be mistaken for a blanket.

OR, I can fold the sleeves so that they gather on my shoulders, creating more of a capped shoulder look. This is a bit more normal looking and creates more of a classic silhouette.

OR, I can bring all of the drapy-ness over my shoulders, pull out the skirt. This really emphasises the shoulders but is very slimming everywhere else on the body. Some who are not on the strong shoulders bandwagon may not be so delighted.
Additionally, I could pull the skirt up under the draping and wear it as a top with some nice pants or another skirt.
What do you think? I’m leaning towards option B.

I like the last option the best. But I love the versatility of the dress! I wish more clothing items were like that. xx
this dress is so versatile!!!
so i like the first look with the batwing sleeves!
also, too,
i think you could totally combine the bold shoulders with the batwings! like maybe if you had a huge shoulder pad you could have a little of both looks!

omg
i want this dress!
i love the way you’ve worn it in the second and third lot of pictures
but i don’t know, they all look great
WOW ! YOU look FABULOUS ! ! !
B is solely GORGEOUSLY UNFORGETTABLE and I luv, luv, luv
your soles they are to die for ! ! !:)
yep its amazing how pple get those creative ideas such as using metal pots n bowls as drums to beat on!
i’d say pull up the skirt under the draping and wear a high-waisted tight-fitting skirt and match it off with a sequinned high-waist belt or sumthing
Add a long but simple chain too!
chain as in necklace… tat’d look great with the top & the skirt
Option C.
mmm… I dont know… looks great in all the options…
I’m liking opiton B the best
I hope to be wearing Louboutins too!!
Thanks for your comment! I hope we do bump into each other when we both live in London
