There’s something wrong about a seagull eating a pigeon. I know they’re different species of birds but it’s just not right :|
It’s like a walrus eating a seal, or a lion eating a tiger, or a human eating a monkey.
That awesome moment when you’re wandering aimlessly around Edinburgh and stumble upon a heap of policemen doing something that looks interesting outside the royal palace. You talk to the policemen and they tell you that HRH Prince Charles and his dear Camilla will shortly be appearing during a military parade to support some of Scotland’s troops who have just returned from Afghanistan.
So I hung about and scored a spot at the very front of the barrier wedged between two older dears. We all watched as they did a sweep of the street, checked for bombs in a postbox. We all loled when the protective services men nearly took out a cyclist who’d managed to get into the exclusion zone as Charles walked out.
And then four jets performed a fly over, and members of the army, navy and air force marched by while Charles saluted, and then back into the palace he went.
And everyone clapped and cheered. It was awesome.
Edinburgh has too many pubs an not enough restaurants. Many will disagree with me I’m sure.
I like table service. I like not being dressed like I rolled out of the gutter. I like not drinking alcohol with dinner.
I don’t like ordering at the bar, which is often sticky. I don’t like dining in pokey, alcohol-smelling establishments. I don’t like the looks I get when I order water or a hot chocolate…they seem unable to decide whether I’m underage or just weird.
Edinburgh is lovely but just not the town for me.
If you ever find yourself in Inverness, you must visit this place. They blow the smoke from the cooking steak out of a vent at the front of the restaurant so anyone that walks past smells it’s deliciousness. One whiff and you’re hooked. Inside I walked, ate the most tasty steak ever, and out I rolled.
It’s funny to think that being a tourist in London could get old. Having now been in London 5 times in my life, I’ve seen most of what there is to see. I’ve spent the last 5 nights waiting for tonight.
I’m currently on a Sleeper Train going to Scotland! It’ll be my first time in Scotland and I’m excited to see what it’s all about.
